Living life to the fullest as a young adult with HT-1

You’ve now got more freedom and more choices you’re making on your own. Chances are this includes taking control of what you eat and how you manage HT-1.

NITYR (nitisinone) tablets are bioequivalent1 to Orfadin* (nitisinone) capsules. This means NITYR is clinically proven to have the same efficacy, safety and side effects as your current nitisinone (NTBC) medication, but may offer you and your family greater convenience. A $0 co-pay is also available for eligible commercially insured patients2.

NITYR tablets are very small3 and stable4 at room temperature between 68° to 77°F (20° to 25°C), allowing for excursions between 59° and 86°F (15° and 30°C) for up to 36 months (3 years), and so frees you from having to refrigerate the medication. NITYR can also be taken with or without food, you only need a drink of water to take the tablet.

What I like about NITYR is it’s a really small tablet,” says Carrie. “It comes in the size of baby aspirin, and it can be taken with or without food any time of day. It doesn’t need to be refrigerated.

If you are considering NITYR, you can speak to your HCP, your dietitian or your clinic today – you don’t need to wait until your next appointment. To help you get the most out of the discussion, we’ve gathered some common questions in a Consultation Guide. Simply follow the link to download the guide here.

For a family that’s unsure about switching to NITYR, I think I simply would say just give it a try. There is nothing to lose, you have everything to gain,” says Mike. “I think it’s important for caregivers to be open to innovation, because we are such a small community that we don’t always get the attention as some other conditions.

You’ve probably got enough challenges just being a young adult. Consider the greater convenience of NITYR that may make your life easier. You’ll appreciate the convenience that NITYR may bring when you’re eating with friends at school or eating out with your family. NITYR will be with you when you get older and start college or when traveling abroad, contact the Patient Liaison Services any time you have questions or need support.
